The short version
Every test on this site runs inside your browser. Test sounds are synthesized on your device. Microphone tests process your mic's signal locally, in your browser tab's memory — nothing is recorded to our servers, because we don't have servers that receive audio. There are no accounts and no audio uploads, ever.
Microphone access
The mic test and spectrum analyzer ask your browser for microphone permission. That permission is enforced by your browser, applies only to this site, and can be revoked at any time from the address bar. The audio stream is analyzed in real time on your device; optional recordings in the mic test live in memory only and are discarded when you leave or reload the page.
Local storage
We use your browser's localStorage for preferences only — your theme (light/dark), language, and per-tool settings such as your last-used volume or best results. These values stay on your device and are never transmitted. Clearing site data removes them.
Analytics & advertising
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are useful (page views, not audio). If ads are shown, they never overlay or displace a test area. We do not sell personal data.
Hosting logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting/CDN provider records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, requested page) for security and abuse prevention, retained per the provider's policy.
